Kliklok's bag-in-box Line for South Africa
May 30, 2007
Kliklok have recently installed a complete bag-in-box line for South African food company Nola, based in Eastern Cape.
In a joint project with Kliklok-Woodman agent PMD (Packaging Machinery Design), Nola's requirement was for a bagging, product handling & cartoning solution for rusk biscuits.
The packaging line starts with a Woodman Compak II bagmaker integrated with Yamato ADW510 weigher & vibratory feeder, plus Safeline metal detector. The Compak II was chosen for its space-efficient footprint and ability to produce bag widths of up to 250mm.
The product handling element was provided by an elevating & product settling conveyor, leading to a Kliklok Right Angle Transfer (R.A.T.) unit, to orientate the 500g bags prior to cartoning on Kliklok's popular SFR medium speed end load machine. The SFR was recommended & chosen for its short footprint, patented rotary carton feeder, and its robust stainless steel construction, plus the benefit of easy and repeatable size change for future production requirements.
This complete system provided Nola with the convenience and reliability of a single source supplier for the line, with Kliklok- Woodman taking responsibility from start to finish.
