Kliklok-Woodman "Busy! Busy! Busy!" at Pack Expo Las Vegas
October 06, 2009
Kliklok-Woodman (Booth C1400) is showcasing the newest generation of its legendary twin-tube bagmaker, the G3.
The G3 continues the Woodman tradition of packaging expertise and legendary reliability with improved ease-of-operation, speed, and size flexibility. The G3's welded tubular steel frame with a center-balanced profile allows weighers and volumetric fillers to be direct-mounted to the machine - a cost-effective option to additional floor mounted support. The electrical cabinet is tucked inside the frame, allowing total access to the interior for ease of maintenance.
The G3 can produce up to 240 bags per minute (120 per tube). A wide variety of bag style options are offered: block bottom bags, perforated string, promo strip, notching and hole punching. KW's exclusive InsightŪ icon-based, multilingual, color touch screen interface is easy to learn and use. We've used non-proprietary, top-tier, "off the shelf" control components in a full servo design to lower your total cost of ownership.
Joining the new arrival is KW's Apache VFFS bagmaker. The Apache stands on a "Flex-Mount" welded tubular steel frame that allows weighers and volumetric fillers to be direct-mounted to the machine. A swing-away electrical cabinet allows total access for ease of maintenance. The Apache offers a large bag size range (12" x 25") with a low overhead stack-up height of under 9' (bagmaker and scale) for maximum productivity. The Apache is controlled by KW's InsightŪ HMI. Top speed is 120 bpm, depending on product characteristics and bag size and style.
Kliklok-Woodman's exciting new code dating option is operational on both bagmakers at the show. The new Woodman Codeline (by Videojet) is a thermal transfer overprinter that delivers high-resolution images of variable and real-time data to a wide variety of flexible packaging materials. The intuitive, graphical user interface incorporates easy to learn, icon-based controls and a WYSIWYG image display to reduce set up errors. The Woodman Codeline is designed to operate efficiently - the bi-directional ribbon drive allows unused ribbon to be recaptured after each print, providing more prints per roll and a low cost of ownership.
Kliklok's Vari-Straight inline tri-seal topload carton closer rounds out the showcase. The Vari-Straight features KW's patented variable pitch technology, which fires "pop-up lugs" only when a carton is present, providing the benefits of lugged carton control and random infeed timing while allowing a broad carton size range. The patented turning bed relies on an offset variable pitch lug transport and a revolutionary "pop-up flight bar" to effortlessly and accurately turn the cartons.
